If you answered yes to these questions, then M&M has a job for you. M&M offers several positions and the opportunity for advancement to a life-long fulfilling career. The following positions are employed at M&M:
Line Foreman
An M&M line foreman must have adequate experience in the powerline construction industry and meet all requirements set by M&M. An M&M foreman must be confident and capable in his position and keep himself and his co-workers in a safe working environment. M&M foremen are in charge of distribution and/or transmission crews. Your primary responsibilities will include overseeing crews, safety and procedures, paperwork and job planning. A line foreman is expected to conduct himself in a professional manner at all times, as well as treat co-workers, customers, and their customers with respect and professionalism. Applicants for line foremen must also meet the following minimum requirements:
- 21 years of age
- Must possess CDL license or the ability to obtain one
- Leadership qualities
- Willing to train, share knowledge and experience with crews
- Self motivated
- Willing to work in all weather conditions
- Must be able and willing to perform physical demanding labor
- Must be willing to travel
Lineman
An M&M lineman must be confident and capable in his position, and have the required experience to complete his work in a safe manner. Primary work will consist of building and maintaining distribution and/or transmission lines. An M&M lineman must keep his jobsite, co-workers and himself in a safe working environment. Applicants for lineman must also meet the following requirements:
- 21 years of age
- Must possess CDL license or the ability to obtain one
- Leadership qualities
- Willing to train, share knowledge and experience with other crew members
- Self motivated
- Willing to work in all weather conditions
- Must be able and willing to perform physical demanding labor
- Must be willing to travel
Apprentice Lineman
An M&M apprentice must have any previous experience properly documented if coming from another contractor or entity. The apprentice must be willing to learn and attend labs, and will be required to pass a test and M&M set criteria to advance in the apprenticeship program. All apprentices will be required to work at heights and climb. An M&M apprentice must at all times demonstrate safe working practices. Applicants for apprentice lineman must also meet the following requirements:
- 19 years of age
- Must possess CDL license or the ability to obtain one
- Leadership qualities
- Willing to learn, listen, and apply knowledge safely
- Must meet ongoing training requirements in a timely manner
- Self motivated
- Willing to work in all weather conditions
- Must be able and willing to perform physical demanding labor
- Must be willing to travel
Equipment Operator
An M&M Operator must be confident and capable in his position, and have the required experience to complete his work in a safe manner. An operator, in addition to operating line equipment, must have the knowledge to frame and set poles. An M&M operator must display the ability to keep his jobsite, co-workers and himself in a safe working environment. Applicants for operator must also meet the following requirements:
- 19 years of age
- Must possess CDL license or the ability to obtain one
- Self motivated
- Willing to work in all weather conditions
- Must be able and willing to perform physical demanding labor
- Must be willing to travel
Groundman
A groundman is an entry level position. You must be able to learn, listen and retain large amounts of information daily. A groundman's job consists of labor support to the line crew. A groundman must at all times work in a safe manner and abide by all safety standards required. An M&M groundman must also display the ability to keep his jobsite, co-workers and himself in a safe working environment. Applicants for groundman must also meet the following requirements:
- 19 years of age
- Must possess CDL license or the ability to obtain one
- Must be willing to listen, learn, and apply knowledge
- Self motivated
- Willing to work in all weather conditions
- Must be able and willing to perform physical demanding labor
- Must be willing to travel
